Visiting Professorship – Prof. Philippe Vangrieken, Maastricht University

From 2 to 13 February 2026, Prof. Philippe Vangrieken from Maastricht University was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Medicine (DIMED), University of Padua.
During his stay, Prof. Vangrieken delivered a series of lectures on advanced glycation and dicarbonyl stress, which were greatly appreciated by the ARHYVAB PhD students and the faculty members.
He actively participated in all doctoral training activities, including the Journal Clubs and the Wednesday morning weekly meetings. Dedicated sessions were organized for PhD candidates to present their research projects, followed by in-depth discussions. Prof. Vangrieken provided insightful feedback and valuable suggestions for the planned experimental work. The visit also included informal and social moments that further strengthened the academic exchange and collegial atmosphere
We would like to sincerely thank Prof. Vangrieken for his valuable contribution to our PhD programme, and for the constructive and inspiring exchange with our PhD community.
We look forward to further developing and strengthening our collaboration with Maastricht University in the future.
